OLD & IN THE WAY, 1975 original Round Records LP, $158 + S / H

1975 original Round Records LP pressing #RX 103, cover VG++, NO seam or spine splits, NO cut-out markings, NO ring-wear, some shelf wear, vinyl M-, NO scratches, plays excellent. Recorded live at The Boarding House, San Francisco, on October 8, 1973 by Owsley Stanley & Vickie Babcock, with Jerry Garcia -banjo & vocals; David Grisman -mandolin & vocals; Peter Rowan -guitar & vocals; John Kahn -string bass & Vassar Clements -violin. Back in late 1975, fresh out of high school, I started to make the "transition" from a long-haired hippie to a platformed shoe disco dancer... yeah, such were the times. So there was this place, a C&W dive that renamed itself from "The Okee Frijole" to "The Big Apple" on North 10th Street in McAllen, Texas, and, it took a while for me to actually buy my 1st pair of platform shoes, so for many months, I still wore guarache sandles on the dance floor! I had the cash, so nobody said anything. Boogie on! But to get to the point, they had great projections on the large screen right in front of the dance floor, mostly album covers of the day, 1 went by every 10 seconds or so, as we did the bump or the hustle (in my guarache sandles, Ha!),  but the album cover I remember most from those 1st few disco months was this cover, "Old & In The Way", a mostly acoustic live album by Jerry Garcia & company. Why they had it in the spin is a mystery to me, all the other covers were by soul & funk artists, disco queens & pop stars!
