Part of this live set was used for the 1974 double-album above, Recorded Live at The Rainbow Theatre in London, England on July 24, 1973 with the extended Caledonia Soul Orchestra! Another Freebie from Gian Franco Giudici (Milan, Italy) who knows me so well, a wonderful live & energetic performance from Van Morrison, who on "Brown Eyed Girl" jumps the gun on the intro & he has to "contain" himself & wait for the band to catch up!

Disc 1 & the 1st 3 tracks on disc 2 recorded live at The Montreux Jazz Festival, Switzerland, July 10, 1980. The remaining tracks are from The Lion's Share club, San Anselmo, California, USA (just north of San Francisco), February 15, 1973 from "the good ol' days" with The Caledonia Soul Orchestra.

Since this has never been commercially released as far as I know (the film itself at the beginning says "Not For Sale, Trade Only"), but its really great! Recorded live at Hilversum, The Netherlands, June 22, 1977 with several hundred in the audience, Van looks very relaxed on that stage. Just 5 guys, the rhythm section is Mo Foster on bass & Peter Van Hooke (who went on to play on many Van Morrison albums & tours) on drums.

The show features several great "oldies" from history with guest vocals by Chris Farlowe, and Chris Barber playing trombone in The Van Morrison Band, sounding like they're in New Orleans blowing Dixieland!

Here's another one I sent in my 2 blank CDrs to the Tree people.  Recorded live at The Theater Carre in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, October 25, 2003, the 1st of a 2 night stand.  A bit "echo-y" on the sound, probably because The Theater Carre, built by the Carre Family in 1887 Amsterdam was built to house circus animals, specifically horses!  It seats 2,000 in a "horseshoe shape auditorium" (get it).

Here is the 2nd & final night at The Carre Theater 2003 from the Tree people, Recorded live October 26, 2003. The sound quality is a bit more "clear" if still a bit less echo-y, must be "the Q-sticks" of the old building as Dr. John used to say.  A Great Performance by any standard!

I have been listening to Van Morrison since 1967, when I 1st heard "Brown-Eyed Girl" on the AM radio!  When I heard that he was playing the 2006 Austin City Limits show, I thought,"here's my chance to finally "see" this music legend!"  Unfortunately, I had a "heavy work schedule" in those days, drilling into the ground inside a tank-like $250,000 rig for an outfit called "Rock Busters, Inc." all over central Texas, from Austin to Helotes to downtown San Antonio, from Uvalde to Kerrville, and many points in-between!  I loved that job!  Work is Good. And I needed to work at that point.  So, I decided not to go, + I thought, everybody will love him and he'll come back & play next year.  He hasn't been back to Austin or close since.  Good thing I know people who did go, like Martin C. & so he made me this repress of one of my longtime favorite artists!  Because this item was Only Sold there at the concert site!  Recorded live at The Austin City Limits Music Festival, Zilker Park, Austin, Texas, September 15, 2006.

This is quite "a piece of work!"  Mainly because of the unique fold-out cover that is very tricky to unfold! You have to do it slowly and very carefully so you don't damage it, how they put it together for EACH copy is hard to imagine how it was done?! There are photos (some rare) & detailed information on the inside, as well as all the musicians that play on the 6 sides!  1998 original made in Italy by Abraxas / Get Back Records 3LP pressing #GET 501.  Fold-out cover M-, in great shape! Vinyl M-, plays excellent. 2 sides of never released jam sessions!
