Van Morrison ~ A Spawn of The Dublin Pubs, original 1973 TMQ LP pressing, $500 + S / H

1973 original Trade Mark of Quality Records LP pressing, recorded live May 24 and 27, 1973 in Los Angeles, California (probably at The Roxy or The Troubadour), with full band, The Caledonia Soul Orchestra.  The loose insert cover is actually "more orange in color" than the labels you see here, but for some reason, my scanner / computer could not duplicate it's brilliance?!  Cardboard cover VG+, aged, NO seam or spine splits, NO cut-out markings, loose insert sheet M-, bright orange, vinyl M-, NO scratches, plays excellent  Handwriting on side 2 label (see scan), "Smokin' Pig" labels.

In the spring of 1971 Van Morrison left his Woodstock, New York house he was renting and bought a house on a hilltop, surrounded by large trees in Marin County, California. Having formed most of the band from east coast musicians, he set out to record "Moondance", "The Band And The Street Choir" and "Tupelo Honey" in quick succession.  They are all great!

THEM (without Van Morrison), 1969 original promotional copy Happy Tiger LP, $400 + S / H

1969 original made in the USA promotional copy Happy Tiger Records LP pressing #1004, cover VG+, NO seam or spine splits, NO cut-out markings, NO ring-wear, some shelf wear, vinyl M-, NO scratches, plays excellent.  In July 1966 (after touring the USA west coast in May & June) Van Morrison left the core group THEM behind in the UK after a couple of concerts in Ireland.  THEM continued with a new vocalist, as Van Morrison continued also afterward with a new THEM AGAIN group, which included Alan Henderson until early March 1967 when Morrison toured briefly The Netherlands with blues rock Dutch band Cuby & The Blizzards (minus lead singer Cuby, of course).  In late March 1967 Van Morrison came to America again, landing in New York City to record for BANG Records under the guidance of Bert Burns.  Different THEM groups continued to both record & perform in concerts, both in Europe & in America!  This is one of those THEM groups, led by the only other constant member, bass player Alan Henderson, which recorded 2 albums in 1969 & 1970 under the THEM name.  While this, their 1st LP had only 2 band members, Henderson & guitarist / vocalist Jerry Cole, the 2nd album had 2 more members making them a quartet. This record is actually quite good, and above average! Truely psychedelic rock and country folk rock too!  Remember 1969 was the year of Woodstock, and it has that 1969 vibe going...
