1985 original Shanachie Records LP pressing #43033, cover & vinyl M-, NO scratches, plays "like a sweet dream in a world of nightmares". Mbaqanga - The Indestructible Beat of the Townships. The first 'Bantu' recordings in South Africa were made in 1912 / 13 by the visiting British Zonophone Company Recording Unit. It was in 1931 that Gallo Ltd set up first South African recording studio in Johannesburg. The music presented in this compilation was recorded in the period 1981 - 84.

1982 original PVC Records 2LP pressing #PVC 201, Gatefold cover VG++ because of one bent corner & scotch tape residue on a few places (this is my original copy I bought back in 1982), NO seam or spine splits, NO cut-out markings, NO ring-wear. All vinyls M-, NO scratches, play excellent with minimal background noise. This was my introduction to "world music". Rare recordings by rock greats Pete Townshend, David Byrne, The (English) Beat, Peter Gabriel, XTC, as well as musicians from across the globe!
